Unfortunately, it looks like the Gameware domain was not renewed, so all of the official downloads (including the Genetics Kit) are temporarily unavailable. Several members of the community are attempting to get in touch with Gameware to find out what's going on. Hopefully everything will be available again very soon!

I found all Genetics Kits for C1, C2, and C3/DS plus many other things on the Wayback Machine web archive service.
C1 and C2's Genetics Kits installed with no problem in Windows 7. For the C3/DS Genetics kit I had to install it a Windows Xp virtual pc for it to work.

It looks like the Gameware domain is back up and running again! Likely what you initially experienced was a problem with the link to the downloads: Any that end in .co.uk go to a web site owned by someone else, so make sure you change the link to go to .com. Gameware did not update these links when they switched domains, and you'll see the issue if you try to download it from the license key page.
