Hi, back in the day, i think it was arround the time when Desperados where released, there was a game like commandos just with gangsters.

In the first mission you must recruit your team and rob a bank i belive. Name was somting like the coup .. Anyone know what game i am looking for? Seems to be lost in history as my googling did not help me in any way ^^

Hmm... it could be "The Sting!" ?

I liked it. Though it was a low-budget game and had its problems, but it had a nice, cartoonish feeling and I found it surprisingly entertaining. (Though I couldn't finish it.)

Chicago 1930 ? I only played in demo and you can choose ganster and police.

I thought you search game more similar to commandos.
Try check this games:
Gangsters: Organized Crime (1999 year)
Gangsters 2: Vendetta (2001 year)
Gangland (2004 year)

Sorry for the necro but Terlon is right. It's "Chicago 1930" designed by the same folks, and hence almost parallel in gameplay to Desperados and Robin Hood Legend of Sherwood.

I REALLY want the game myself however it's only available through distributors with either DRM or shit downloaders.

The game you are looking for I think is called "Heist" , I could be wrong but it sounds similar to the first mission and I loved the game, it was very unknown but very cool despite it being very buggy. Hope I helped.
