Hi, I just read in the manual that there is a secret mission for players with an exceptionally high (or maybe perfect?) rating. I just beat the game and made it for Major which obviously isn't good enough.

Anyhow: Has anyone ever seen this particular mission? I can't seem to find any information on this on the web.

The secret mission is the 20th mission "Operation Valhalla" which can only be played if you have a certain rank. But not all versions of BEL have this limitation.

You need to obtain Captain, which needs 30 Stars at the end of Mission 19.

I find it really hard getting 3 stars on each mission, so as long as I have got enough to finish the game I dont really care about it. It makes little sense having to do the missions so fast. Doing everything slow, calm and well planned is what makes this game wonderful, and to get 3 stars for speed you really need to do it quite fast

These are the ranks (6 stars needed to get promoted)
1. Lance-Corporal (Start, All Games)
2. Corporal
3. Sergeant
4. Quartermaster
5. Lieutenant
6. Captain
7. Major
8. Colonel
9. Brigadier
10. General
11. Field-Marshal

I bought this game the day it came out on disc and I HAD NO CLUE there was a secret mission! I only found this thread while looking for something else. I guess it doesn't matter because the cheats are a pain in the ass and I'm not good enough to get it legit.

Or you could just enter 88U4V on the password screen. That's hardly a pain in the ass. :D

While I was waiting for our answer I dug out my old passwords from when I first won the game eons ago and realized I played the mission. I know my rank was never anywhere good enough so it must have just been Mission #20 on the cd rom, no special merit required, just get to the damn thing. :D
