Hi,
I can play "Beyond The Call Of Duty" but not "Behind Enemy Lines". If I start the game, i see the game's logo for a few seconds and then the intro movies are played, but I can only hear them - the screen is from now on black. I even get to the menu (listening to the music) but am still not seeing anything. My only option now is to Alt+Tab and close the game via task manager.
What I have already tried:
- reinstalling the game
- setting resolution to both 1024x768 and 800x600
- trying each compatibiltiy option available
- DirectX, OS, drivers were updated recently
Oh, my system:
OS: Windows XP SP3
CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600
Graphics: Geforce 9600 GT

Unfortunately, it did not help. :( In full screen mode, screen stays black after the logo. Window mode didn't help, either - though I tried every single option.

Now, I can at least start the mission. But now I have another problem. If I start a mission, after the briefing text, there should be some spoken introduction. But for me, the screen stands still (it should move around while talking) and I cannot hear anything. I can press ESC and play, so it's not that big. But the introduction would be nice, anyway.
edit2: Simple solution for the incorrect intro: Win98-compatibilty mode.

If I remember correctly these problems have been appearing from the start.
At some point there was a codec problem which affected a number of games, including Commandos BEL.
For some time MS even offered a none essential update for it on their website.
That was years ago.

Thanks dude, this got my version working :)
thank you - i have the same problem cant hardly wait to arrive home and try the sollution
it works!FANTASTIC!THNX!
I got blank screen without EIDOS movies when launching BEL. I found that CVID decoder in K-Lite Codec was not enabled but it looks like video codec problem. After I uninstalled K-Lite Codec Pack, the game run fine finally.
