Got stuck in a section of the game where I only have low health, but every time I get killed you have to endure the same 10 sec cut scene. Esc does nothing, so is there a way to disable it?

No, I fear there isn't. While you can skip some cut-scenes by clicking the left mouse button, it doesn't work for the death scene and there is no work-around that I know of.
