Hey,

I'm having trouble getting the game to actually start. I worked around the dvm.dll issue and set an exception for the file and the installation folder in my anti virus software (Microsoft Security Essentials). Now however, when I go to launch the game I get an error from something called solid shield saying Module Init Error. Have submitted a ticket to GOG but they haven't gotten back to me yet. Wondering if anyone else has managed to get around it.

I'm running 64-bit windows 7, not sure what other info would be useful but let me know and will get it posted.

I am getting the exact same error message running the same OS. After reading all the problems with GOG, I think I will uninstall this game and give GOG two thumbs down. Apparently, we are paying GOG for cracked games that sometimes contain viruses and missing files!
Count me as another victim of Module Init Error....

Edit: SOLUTION FOUND for Windows 7 64-bit

The installation path needs to be changed to:

[drive letter] : \ [intermediate folders] \ The Chronicles of Riddick \ Chronicles of Riddick - Assault on Dark Athena

... without the spaces between anything other than letter characters, of course.

For example, my full install path before reaching the actual game files is:

G:\GOG Games\Installed\The Chronicles of Riddick\Chronicles of Riddick - Assault on Dark Athena

Note that you need to nest the folder containing the game files in ANOTHER folder, titled "The Chronicles of Riddick", and you also need to get rid of the "The" on the beginning of the former folder's title. Naturally, you also need to change where the desktop shortcut points to to accommodate this change.

And if NanosuitWitcher ,s suggestion does not work then try these that I got from the GoG support team

1) Please make sure that you use "Run as Administrator" to install and to start the game (right click on the shortcut or setup file and select "Run as Administrator").

2) Please reinstall the game to a simpler path (like: C:\Games).

3) Please add the setup file and the game to your anti-virus/firewall
Works on XP too with that solution.
