***EDIT - IGNORE ME! I persevered and I love this game***

I've started the escape from butcher bay game, on easy, and was completely immersed with the plot, locations and option to work through it stealthily (my preference) or go through it with guns blazing.

However, I'm now in the upper mines and am getting increasingly frustrated as I'm finding the AI a bit too intelligent (I know that's a strange criticism). I'll admit (as I have on other gog forums) that I'm pretty poor in terms of gaming ability but each section is made up of:

- Creep in to an area.
- Spot guards while I'm in the shadows
- Wait for an opportunity to sneak up and kill a lonesome guard
- Get spotted, shot at and killed

= Repeat x 3 or 4 times
- Find a way out of the section

Then back to "Creep in to an area"

I just like an easy setting to be just that....easy. I play games for escapism and while I appreciate how good this is, it doesn't seem to accommodate my ability (i.e. crap!).

Finally, I don't want to play through a game armed with hints, tips and cheats - to me, it would make it sterile and less enjoyable.

Rant over - but I would be interested to hear other gog gamers' opinions.

No? Just me?

Ok - that's embarrassing. Where's my coat?
I remember a pure stealth attempt at this game being pretty frustrating. I think it was made to be played alternating, action and stealth as the situation calls for it.
I found in some places that it was easier to just let some guards live and simply sneak past them. Kill just the one guarding the goal/exit and leave the rest. You won't get bogged down in a fire fight and it's one less "puzzle" to deal with.
