Months before The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena was released on GOG, i had purchased a retail copy of the game and still haven't installed it on my PC. So my question, is there any option by which i can redeem the CD key on GOG?

Not likely, the only reason why this is possible with the Witcher 1 and 2 is because CD Projekt RED (the owners of gog.com) developed both those games.
