Why Games in Development?
“We have built a solid technical basis but need more time to finish the remaining work with the help of your community feedback.

We have already implemented numerous wishes for improvement from the community and have fixed many reported bugs. At the same time we’re aware that the game still needs some love and time until the final version.

We will introduce more crop variety and the according machines into the game in the future and improve the management area. The simulation of the plant growth needs more balancing. The multiplayer aspect is also of great importance to us which we want to finish until the final version.”

Approximately how long will this game be in In Development?
“In Development is estimated to last until Q4 2019.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the In Development version?
“We’re starting with the maize cycle, which contains all required functions and machines necessary for growing and harvesting maize. In addition we have an employee system that can take on most of the work steps like transportation for example. More crop variety and machines, optimization of the AI as well as the following points will be added in the course of the In Development phase.

More variety in crops, animals, machines and brands
A story including voice acting
Cultivated grassland including the required machines
Grain farming including the required machines
The management aspect will be extended considerably
Seasons
Multiplayer
Vehicle maintenance
Real estate, farm expansion, acquisition of other farms
Moveable silo heaps
Extended plant growth, diseases, weeds and pests
TrackIR Support

What is the current state of the In Development version?
“Cattle and Crops is already quite enjoyable. It includes the following:

Two playable maps: a 4 square kilometer (988 acres) big territory with over 100 hectares (247 acres) of arable farm land, distributed over 49 fields, with a farm, a sewage treatment plant, an animal trader, a cooperative and a harbor. In addition there is a smaller tech demo map with tutorial missions
Includes a continuous story campaign and the opportunity of a sandbox simulation
Vehicles with realistic driving behavior and feedback
Maize cycle, machines from soil cultivation to seeding and harvest
Dynamic ground with puddles and persistent driving tracks
Comprehensive weather simulation with rain and evaporation, based on realistic weather data
Plant growth
Animal feeding and the buying/selling of animals
Hireable employees and assigning of tasks
Complex AI that assists you in your field and transport tasks
Map independent player profile where you can deploy your vehicle fleet on different maps
WorldEditor with the tools to create new maps, buildings and vehicles and load them as mods”

Will the game be priced differently during and after In Development?
“We’re reserving the right to increase the price after the end of the In Development phase.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?
“During the prototype phase of the last months we received a lot of feedback in our own forums and implemented bug fixes and improvements.

With your support we can develop Cattle and Crops into a unique experience in the area of farming simulations.”

I bought the game directly on the developer's web site cattleandcrops.com because I wanted to support development and there is a Linux version. I'm a bit disappointed that only a Windows version is announced on GOG. I would instantly re-buy it here without second thought if a Linux version was available because I really like the distribution in form of unified installers here.
Focusing more on the driving aspect of the game we spend allot of time driving (having mirrors and turning lights indicate is first-person view)

Optimization, no offence. the game V1 at ultra settings on a high end pc runs at 5 FPS on Medium - 40 FPS, and i must say is not the beautiful graphic iv see
Is this game now over at 2021, or is it living with new hapening?
Status Update 29 Jan. 2021 (cattleandcrops.com):
[...] Over the course of this year there will be a new map, which we have already begun working on. It will be located in southern Germany and will be much more mountainous than the current map "Albergtal". Furthermore, we plan to integrate more crops like canola, oats and sunflowers into the game.
Also check out the beautiful Cattle and Crops Timeline (cattleandcrops.com).
Game has been abandoned. Official info on developers forum.
