Can't seem to save the game. Click save, type in the name but when I hit enter it says "save error". How can I fix this?

Not enough information here for anyone to diagnose the problem.
If you provide system specs, operating system, install location, any attempted fixes (e.g. run as admin, compatibility modes, etc) then someone might be able to assist. Other than that, it'll just be the usual stuff to try. So:

Don't install into a Program Files folder, use your own unprotected folder instead.
Run as administrator.
Try compatibility modes (though I wouldn't have thought this would be necessary with a DOSBox game).

Of course, all this assumes you are on a PC and not a Mac.
