Cannon Fodder 3 was just released in the US (Not sure about other countries other than Russia) on GamersGate. It looks great and has the same appeal as the earlier games. The thing I am concerned i price. It costs $26 and money is tight now. Can anyone whose played the game give me or point me to a review or first impression page. Is it worth $26 or should I wait for a sale?
Totalbiscuit posted a WTF of it, you can judge yourself I suppose! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jUXPLODn2_w

Personally it irks me that he's using WASD controls when it's pretty apparent it's designed for the oldschool controls, but other than that it certainly shows what it's like... I think I'll pass at that price point. I'm interested, but not $26 interested :/
Just watched the video, actually looks pretty decent, almost what I'd expect a modern Cannon Fodder to be like. I'm not buying for now though, its only on GG and I only use Steam (one DD service installed on my PC is enough, thanks) and £20 is too pricey for me right now.

Actually GG isn't a service you need to install. They use separate installers much like GOG and Dotemu does.

Oooh, ok, guess I'll give them a look now then... still not buying Cannon Fodder though :)
A thing worth noticing though is that they do use DRM which in many cases contains install limits. They say that you can contact support if you run out. But that still is a concern to some...
Haven't played it yet but to me it looks like a total disgrace for the series. They completely didn't get the essence of the original CF games. It's weird how people rarely seem to notice that Cannon Fodder isn't really about chubby soldiers killing hundreds of other chubby soldiers but that it's about showing how senseless war is - and the developers did this in every single detail, covering both the presentation and every aspect of the gameplay. CF3 quite obviously doesn't do that at all. I must admit though, that CF3 does look like quite an enjoyable arcade game. If it just wasn't titled "Cannon Fodder"... maybe they should have called it "Metal Slug RTS" because that's what it looks like.
Just FYI, it's on Steam for $20 right now. I think I'll buy it, if only for sentimental reasons. I really dug the first two.
