So all I do to get the update is essentially reinstall the game? Am I correct in this assumption?
Yep. For best results you want to do a clean install, rather than installing over the old copy.
If you're worried about your save games you can always back them up - they're kept in Documents/Broken Sword 5 and will be compatible with the new version.
