How is everyone else getting on with the game. What do you think?

I've just completed it (although it seemed a bit short), I really do like it. I thought that it was going to be 2 full games, instead it appears to be half a game and obviously the rest in January!
It's half a game with each half being comparable in size to a full game. Of course how you quantify that differs, some will find it to be relatively true, others will think it's not close.

I'm only like 22% so far, just got to London... It's enjoyable though.
I just finished it. I'm not the fastest player in general or the best puzzle solver for that matter (and I tried avoiding the hint system), so it took me 8 1/2 hours to complete it. I actually thought it was pretty lengthy for an episodic game, especially compared to something like Telltale's "The Walking Dead", where each episode is only around 2-3 hours.

I was delighted to see that Revolution Software returned to form with this one, as I thought that BS 4 was rather horrible – maybe not per se, but definitely as a game bearing the BS name. But now they got it right again!

I think it's fantastic in every respect. Whether it be art style, characters, pacing, or dialog.
I wasn't too fond of the 3D-characters-against-drawn-backgrounds-concept when I had first seen some trailers, but I was surprised to see how well those two styles merge.

I actually feared that Revolution would water down the experience to appeal to the casual gamer crowd, but I was proven wrong:
This is a no-bells-no-whistles, classic point 'n' click adventure, paying tribute to the 1990s heydays of the genre.

If they can keep that kind of level with the 2nd episode I might very well consider this to be the best game in the series since BS 2.

I haven't finished it since the game crashes on me in the flower shop when George attempts to question Adam but I think I'm pretty far in.

Once I got rid of the annoying Achievements and the white dialogue box, I settled in to enjoy the game. The hand drawn backgrounds are beautiful and the 3D characters don't look that bad but they look as if they're moving on rails, which I find distracting. And it was peculiar to see Nico looking at something over Navet's shoulder when she was talking to him.

The dialogue is really slow. George says something, for instance, and several beats later he gets a reply. It's also repetitive. I don't need to be told something two or three times to get it through my head. IMO, the game itself is slow moving and there is too much talk that goes nowhere. The waiter and Bassem were particularly irritating, not to mention that whoever voices Lady Piermont just wasn't up to the amusing standard her predecessor set for Lady P.

I was amused by Hobbs. For some reason, he reminded me of Tim Shafer.

My opinion and a lot of it is subjective, of course, but AFAIC, the game really isn't up to the quick, quirky, amusing standard of BS1 and 2.
I finished the game in just under seven hours.

It's okay. I enjoyed it enough, but it feels a bit like a band's obligatory reunion album. The familiar elements are there, and it's great to see George and Nico again. However, the ingenuity and vision of the originals are missing - almost as if the team tried too hard to make classic Broken Sword for the sake of fans.

The dialogue could definitely use some work. It's stilted and overwritten while lacking the wit of the original. Pacing is also a mess because of this. Nevertheless, the game is a pleasant enough diversion (although one that would be better if it were half as long. Playtime is inflated by unnecessary dialogue), at least as a blast of nostalgia.
I really enjoyed pretty much all of it. Though I was a bit miffed at the very end as a "puzzle" that I knew how to solve took me nearly 45 mins because I wasn't solving it in the way the game wanted

************* SPOILER - ep 1 finishers only ***************

Revolution: Don't make an item inter-actable if it is to be key to the puzzle, but not to be interacted with

************* END SPOILER ***************

Last minute frustration to an otherwise great experience. Looking forward to ep 2

I've also just completed it - it's perfectly ok, though I admit I haven't played the previous entries in the series. It takes about 8-9 hours to complete, so if the second part is as long, it should turn out to be quite a decent game. Regarding gameplay, it was fine in most parts, though I was annoyed a little that you were supposed to go through dialogues all over again in some occasions, without any apparent hint for it. It's just that dialogues are not always entertaining, but it is not a big issue.

I do hope the story remains interesting, because the game builds up a lot of expectations. It does resemble The Da Vinci Code a little, especially with all the references to gnostic writings and the involvement of the Vatican. Still, it looks quite refreshing, amidst all the action games out there.

You should play Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars, zhivik. It made me laugh out loud time and again. Yes, the graphics are old but that makes no difference to the quality of the game. You'll see soon enough why Yause was right in saying BS5, Part 1 lacks the wit and ingenuity of the original Broken Sword.
