Hi,

On a previous PC this ran nice and fast. But that PC is now dead - f-in HD failure!
So it's PC#2. PC#2 is a complete and utter potato........ but it does seem to run Brigador at a reasonable framerate. The map scrolls nice and smooth. BUT everything else moves as if swimming through molasses. It like games that allow decelerated time. It's running as if it's on 1/4x normal time! I noticed a game speed in the options. It is NOT that. That is set to 100. Lower resolution and disabling GFX options don't make any difference.
I'll say this twice, I don't believe it is the FPS! Frames seem reasonably smooth(ish) - it's definately some kind of "slo-mo" thing.

Also the screen is very dark. There are no "gamma settings" in the options to fix it.

Any help anyone?

You should provide more information about your system (hardware, OS, etc.) in order to get help.

That said, according to what you wrote I strongly suspect that your PC doesn't meet the minimal hardware requirements:
System: Windows 7 / 8 / 10 (64-bit)
Processor: 2.6 GHz or faster (Dual core CPU with Passmark score of 2900 or more)
Memory: 4 GB RAM
Graphics: AMD Radeon 5770 / NVIDIA GTX 460 or better
Storage: 1 GB available space

dr.schliemann:
You are highly likely to be correct there! In areas with more objects on the screen it slows further, in areas that are sparse it speeds up. So it is either a CPU or GPU deficency, or both. Luckily this potato PC is just "temporary".
Some specs I do know:-
AMD A4-6210 Quad core (though you'd never guess from the speed it runs!) It's passmark is quoted as a mere 1446 on the site I checked it upon!
Integrateed AMD R3 GPU - Only 1Gb
8Gb Ram
Windows 10-64

So it probably is matching the minimum requirements - but it is still one serious spud of a machine!

I think that the problem could be the integrated GPU: even if this is as fast as the required AMD Radeon 5770 (and it's likely not), it probably takes resources from the CPU, hence generating the lag.

And as I mentioned earlier, the passmark score for the CPU is only 1446 to start with, little better than half the recommended 2900. Odd though, it's not "jerky" lag, as in low FPS. Scrolling is still smooth, animations still look smooth (well 20FPS "smooth" maybe), it's just like it's running on decelerated time. Still, it is actually playable regardless, so far.

Good: happy playing, then.

Anyway you should be able to quickly repair your other PC: if compared to other problems, an hard disk failure isn't generally the most serious hardware issue and usually it should be easily repairable.

True, mind you, even before it broke down I was considering getting a new more up to date PC anyway. It was already dated 2013, upgrading everything in it would probably cost not much less than getting all new. It breaking down is just a catalyst/good excuse to finally do so. I may still replace it's HD and use it as a spare secondary PC.
