We've been getting reports with players who, when firing mortars, artillery, and smoke launcher mysteriously end up exploding at the feet of their vehicle.

If this is you, please email your log.txt (a small text file you can find in your brigador folder where you also find the .exe for the game - this file is overwritten everytime you relaunch the game) and your dxdiag.txt (details on how find a dxdiag here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/open-and-run-dxdiag-exe-dad7792c-2ad5-f6cd-5a37-bf92228dfd85) to bugs@stellarjockeys.com, as well as any mods you are using. This is a one-off email address - the support address is still support@stellarjockeys.com - we want to filter all the logs for this issue specifically.

Happened to me on some freelance contract couple of runs ago, so no log, unfortunately. I believe it was due to a high arc weapon firing at player's own vehicle when trying to target something relatively far away: arc flattens enough to intersect with a vehicle sprite. It was a smaller agrav iirc, Pompadour perhaps.

This just has happened to me during the campaign mission [05] New Feeling with Touro's smoke launcher - whenever you try to extend the weapon's arc over a certain (medium) range in any direction, the weapon immediately defaults to a short range close to the mech's feet. However this didn't happen during any of the previous missions with Zöllig's smoke launcher.

I've emailed the log and dxdiag files for analysis.

Just sent both files.

I tested it with the Zöllig on the Second Scout campaign mission. The moment you exceed a certain range the arc jumps to the feet of your vehicle. Dragging the mouse nearer again will remedy this and the arc displays correctly again.

I've sent both files at bugs@stellarjockeys.com and a detailed report.
I personally experienced the bug with the mortars only when they were "Turret" type mortars (Scimitar, Gutterball) the others appeared to work normally even when chosen along side them.
Unfortunately the "snapping" at the feet of the vehicle after a certain range bug, also happens with the EMP and Smoke Granade however I forgot to mention it in the report.

Thanks again for the responses. We think we've figured this issue out and are in the process of adding it to part 2 of the Blood Anniversary patch
I just tested the game with the latest 1.62 patch and, while the Scimitar Mortar works correctly, the Gutterball and the EMP and Smoke Granade still aim at the feet of the vehicle after aiming far enough.
The Gutterball is almost at max range (outside the screen but at the very end of the aim it goes back to the feet), however the Smoke granade and EMP granade can only make it at almost half of the screen and than they go back to aiming at the feet of the mech.
Is anyone else still getting this bug?

I sent another report with a dxdiag and the log.

I can confirm this. This bug is still not fixed in 1.62.

Can confirm from other sources that this effect is still bugging us. We're working on it.
Is there any progress about this issue?

Apologies for the delay; the team's been on a much-needed break for a couple of weeks but we're back now. We'll be looking into resolving this and other issues soon.
It appears that the latest update 1.62c fixed the issue. Thanks for the patch.
Seems all fixed for me, too. Couldn't reproduce with different vehicles and loadouts in ten or so runs. Major thanks to the dev team.
