So, I've left my little rant on the DLC page as a review, but other than that, has anyone figured out where to get the item and how to use it?

I could care less about the Iga fight, I want my sword that I paid for.

TL;DR on afformentioned rant: Very high price, all backers should've gotten this free, Day-1-DLC is the worst.

If this ends up being 10 bucks spend on post-game content... that would just be evil. And they promised they wouldn't be.

From my understanding the item isn't in the game for what ever reason. However the Quest exists in the game you have to talk to the NPC Lindsay to get the quest. Then once the item has been implemented into the game you have to fight Iga to get the item. I am with you part of the way on why sell something thats partially implemented.
That weapon must be a drop from the Iga boss. The two are tied, somehow.

In both cases, that's too much.

To hope for a drop (guaranteed or not) from a post-game boss, that you paid money for, is insane.

And I see no quests either.
From steam posts and what I remember when this goal was reached way back when, you do get the whipsword from the Iga boss, I don't know if it's a chance/rare drop or guaranteed though.

But I'm pretty sure this was the plan from the beginning because I remember buying in at $60 to get it, and I backed after the KS campaign was over.

-After playing some more, I just got the quest from the woman in town. Unless there is some other way to get it, which I doubt, this quest is how you receive the whipsword. AFTER defeating IGA, return to that woman and she rewards you with the whipsword.
Considering how awful whips are in this game, I'm not sure it's worth the upset.

I'm a backer and got the IGA DLC with my other codes from the backer page. Why did you have to pay for it? We all got it as backers. The DLC is just for those who want the content, but didn't back the game.
*Spoiler*

after you free gabel you just walk back into his room to fight iga, and then turn in the quest for the sword after beating him.
Like the comment before *Spoiler*

Yeah you go back in, IGA pops up, you beat him and go back to town. Make sure you grab the quest before just in case. Then you get it from the quest giver, it is a fun sword :)
UPDATE: Thanks, everyone, for the aid. But another problem came up.

I had real trouble when facing Iga, until I devised a super-clever (obvious) way to kill him without much effort. But even then, I could NOT have done it before pretty much beating the game and going up until 98%, max Gear too from what I can see.

TL;DR:

SPOILERS:

The thing is just bad. It does so little DMG that it's barely worth the effort of farming and crafting just so you can face Iga, let alone paying actual money for it.

I mean my DPS plummets with a whopping 110 points after equiping it. Sure, the extra range is nice, but big deal, 110 DMG is a LOT. I expected the Whipsword to be the best weapon in the game or at least close to some of the end-game craftables.

NON-SPOILERS:

So, has anyone found a way to augment/upgrade/better it? It cant be just this.
