Like the title says What is this game like? This is the first time I have EVER heard of this game. The synopsis sounds appealing but I can seem to fun much information on the web about this game. So from people who played it what did you like or dislike about the game? Is the world interesting? the combat decent? You know experiences and what not.
It is a very special game in my opinion.
I played hundreds of Adventure and RPG games in my gaming years.
This is one of the games I remember most vividly.
However it is not a game suited for everyone. Many people would give up on it very fast.

The strongest aspect of the game is the atmosphere.
The cyberpunk, loneliness 'in the void' style, that special depth that is hard to understand, its very present in this game. The writing, the story in this game is fantastic.

If you're not the kind of player that enjoys reading a lot of text, and really going into the side quests, talking to many characters, then this isn't for you.

This guy a few years ago said 'this game should have been a book' and that's a fair statement :-)
Why? Because the other aspects of the game, mainly the combat... To answer your question, is the combat decent? No its not. It is absolutely horrible... The combat itself that is.

How you get to have the weapons, jury rig, do quests to find them, explore, hack, steal, trade.. etc. Very fun :-)

The technology related aspects in the game are amazing. The cyberspace tech, the deck... Really cool. Cyberspace itself isn't so amazing, but I still enjoyed it greatly.

There are 2 side quests in the game that were so amazing, I don't think I'll ever forget them. Think Ultima VII Black Gate quest quality.

Save a lot, don't use 1 save game or you'll regret it. The game is not bug free.
I love the game, always thought its qualities went well above its faults.
If you can go beyond the bad combat system, and you enjoy a good story in the cyberpunk atmosphere, then you'll enjoy it.

Thanks for the replay I am finding games with text very appealing as of late(thanks to games like Wasteland) I think I want to take the plunge into this what looks to be an interesting world(I just see as practice for the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077) Another thanks for the tips

If you want the version with text, remember on the installer to click 'options' and check the FDD version. The other version has voice but no text. Also, as someone who did not grow up with these games (I was only 1 year old when this released), I still find it enjoyable for a vampire/cyberpunk game.

I agree with everything VioleTAK said about BloodNet. I still have this game on CD, sadly i don't have the box. But i still remember this game fondly. Great story mixing cyberpunk and vampires (little Dracula lore mixed in) and interesting graphics for the locations you visit (and some decent voices if you play the CD version). Few downsides are that most of your characters use the same graphics. So you'll end up with a bunch of clones with nothing to separate and make them look unique in combat. Items are pretty bland too, being small black n' white pictures. And the combat is pretty hard from what i remembered. The AI has a nasty habit of always aiming for your head and i remember just saving a lot. But otherwise, there is plenty to like about this game. Glad to see it here on GoG.
@VioleTAK: Which two quests? :)
Charlie Flyer and Elvis? Or perhaps Braque Picaro and Banks Vebatim?

Braque quest took me years to work out, I'd always skip it until one day I had a stroke of luck :)

Loving the revisit to Bloodnet too.
I am just wandering is there anywhere a wiki about Bloodnet.
Just thought about Fallout tactics with all those weapons damage statistics and such.
Of course the manual is a bit of help about what ammo to use and things like energy cell usage for different weapons.
Trying to complete the game without any actual walkthroughs, though.
Years ago I wrote some stuff down: implants and their actual effects, my thoughts and experiences on weapons and a comprehensive list of all battle encounters, enemy positions and gear they are using, drop lists, plus kind of a guide for the final battle.

Can't post a link with the .txt file atm, will try tomorrow.
