I've made a small patch that makes the game a bit more playable under Windows 8:



This patch removes the border from the window that is always visible in Windows 8. I also tried to fix some other issues, but the old LithTech wasn't very cooperative :-P. It still has the issue with using software emulation for the 16bit mode (or whatever is the reason that it is slow), but at least you can play the game in software rendering mode without the border covering a large part of it.

It appears to be a wrapper that sits between te client.exe and the player's os. I used it in hardware mode and that boarder on certain resolutions disappeared.

are u using win8?

Barrowed a friend's laptop with win8x64. Just for testing. Haven't used it for much save 10 minutes of testing with wobak's rez and now badsector's work. I've tried to get her to take the laptop back...

She refuses. XD
