I can't seem to get a game going on my home network... the computers never find each no matter which setup option I use.

If I remember correctly, this game uses gamespy for multiplayer(i dont own this game quite yet, however I do own shogo. Not the Gog version the real CD version XD.Shogo uses the same engine as blood 2 and gamespy also, I believe...). Try downloading a newer version of gamespy.
Edit: I got the game. I will try lan soon :D.

Sorry, I should have specified. I'm having this problem with Blood 1.
update: I've installed YANG and have managed to get a game hosted and everyone joins ok, but when I launch the game everything seems normal until the DOS Blood loading screen finishes. The game just abruptly closes for no apparent reason. Launching a single player game in YANG yields the same result. I can launch the game normally through the GoG shortcut though...
Read my post: http://www.gog.com/en/forum/blood_series/how_to_play_blood_1_multiplayer_in_windows_7
Hopefully that helps
