Just sending out the feelers if anybody else would be interested if Nightdive were to do a re-release of Blood 2.

Yay or Nay?

I say yay under the condition that they put some work into balancing and fixing it. The game was released unfinished, and it showed a lot of potential that was sadly not lived up to because of it's broken, buggy nature. If you've ever played the Extra Crispy mod, you know that this game has quite a bit to offer. I'd still rather have a Powerslave/Exhumed re-release first.

My two cents.
While I, and I suspect a few others, would be quite happy to see a remastered Blood 2, I think it's pretty low down on the list of NightDive's priorities for a couple of reasons.

First, there's the poor reception of the game in general. The first Blood is held in pretty high regard, and for good reason, so a proper rerelease was something people have wanted for years. Blood 2... not so much. Again, for good reason. Outside of a few morbidly curious people like us, no-one would really want anything to do with it.

Then there's the amount of work required. NightDive wouldn't just have to either port the game over to their engine or update the original LithTech engine, either of which would be hard enough as is, but they'd (at the very least!) have to fix the VERY broken damage system. Plus there's the repeated levels, the random plot, the expansion... Blood 2 really needs a full-on remake rather than a remaster, so much work needs doing.

Finally, there's so many other remasters I, you, and everyone would rather NightDive focus on first. You even listed a couple of great examples, so... yeah.

TL;DR - I'd be down for it, but I'd rather they remastered more deserving stuff.

I was able to find the original free release of Powerslave EX quite some time ago now, but an officially released version would be very welcome, so hopefully we'll hear more news from Nightdive soon.
Unpopular as it will be to some, but I'd rather they just make a new Blood II and leave the other alone. Not to say I hate it or that isn't playable or anything, just that putting funding and effort to a better realized product would be welcomed.
i adore Blood II. i think its dark humor and stylized violence would be a great fit given the current industry tastes and trends - devolver digital has built a publishing empire on those themes. its a shame it sort of lives in the shadow of Blood when it's such a great follow up. i would eagerly welcome a nightdive remaster of it. making those games available to a new generation in a compelling and modern package only really adds to the legacy of the series.
Not a huge fan of Blood 2..not quite as bad as it's reputation, but nowhere near as good a Blood...but if a game ever needed a remaster it's Blood 2, if for other reason then to finally get a stable version of the game. It has had major problems with random crashes, freezes, etc since it 's first release (just checo out the number of threads in this section asking for help with Blood 2) .Fact is this versionof the Lithtect engine was pushed out the door too early, and it never was stable until the later version used in "No One Lives Forever".
GOG tried to fix it, but a total redo dumping the Lithtech and replaing it with something lese is the only real solution.

You are asking for Blood 3, not Blood 2.
I agree the Blood 2 is a very flawed game, but ,still, If Nightdive does decide to put out a remaster, they should stick ac closely to the original as possible, just replace the buggy early Lithtech engine with something a lot more stable..end the "MFC Has Carahsed" problem which is a constant plague for those playing the game.

No, I'm asking for a Blood II much in the vein of Arkane's Prey not being a sequel to Human Head's Prey. But without being as much of a drastic departure as that example.

Ultimately it's all talk anyway - Night Dive wouldn't do such a project without a Kickstarter and as much loved as the first Blood game is, people aren't going to blindly drop money for a Blood II, regardless of whether it's a "let's fix Monolith's busted release" or a "this will be our version of Blood II - without the jank" release.
I'm not sure that would fall within the confines of what Atari can do and still call it a "patch support".
