Hey guys and gals.
Wanted to know if anyone with a similar setup can verify if the game can be played in hardware mode.
I have blood 2 installed already (from disk), and have been playing it off and on for the past few months.
But, I can only get it to run in software mode.
If I try to run it in hardware mode, I:
1. Cant see the menu at all.
2. When in game, the textures all go purple and green.
3. Cut scenes are not rendered at all.
Tried on 2 machines:
Machine 1:
Xp 64 bit sp2
X48 ddr3 mobo
Core 2 Duo E8600 3.33ghz
GTX280
4gb memory
X-FI sound
Machine 2:
Xp 32 bit sp3
939 mobo
AMD dual core x60 2.6ghz
4gb memory (3.25 usable)
8800gt
On-board sound
Any info is appreciated.
Please specify your system, and if hardware mode works for you.
Hmm.
Not certain why you cannot run hardware mode.
I'm running
Dell XPS 730x
Vista 64
Nvidia 280 (latest drivers)
Soundblaster X-Fi
6gb RAM
Intel i7 (quad core)
Obviously not quite the same setup, but certainly fairly recent hardware. You may be having framerate/sync issues. I never had the initial black screen or no menu issue, but I did have a very annoying flicker which would periodically go from the main screen to a black window with a border and back.
I've seen a lot of other people around the net complaining about this problem, and the fix appears to be to add a +maxfps 30 (or 60) to the command-line. I physically put this into the Autoexec.cfg file (set it to read-only, as launching the game reset it), and this seemed to resolve the flicker I mentioned before. I've seen other people claiming you need to enable v-sync. Not certain if either of these will work for you.
Woohoo !
Works fine in hardware mode !!!!
Thanks gog.
You guys rock.
