The game works great except I can't use the save pillar(I step on the save square and nothing happens. I get no prompt to save.) nor does my wired xbox 360 controller work. any one else have this problem? I've tried repair/reinstall options.
UPDATE: the game is now allowing me to save. (don't won't happened but I won't look a gifted horse in the mouth.) However I am still unable to use my wired 360 controller. ( I am unable to post the model number (the sticker on the bottom of it worn off ages ago.)
Maybe try to reinstall it outside of program files? anything i can suggest is access to SAVES\SAVING folders (GOG version differ named folder) and dxcfg.ini file for dxcfg.exe and dinput.ini for input wrapper.

Also, game still use HKLM\Software\LegacyofKain\ Windows registry - game require admin rights (set o game exe or on galaxy.exe if you use only GOG Galaxy to start the games).

Thanks for the imput Will try those in the morning! I tried connecting my series X controller and movement is just fine but X and Y aren't recognized, and the other buttons just show up as keyboard buttons.
Xinput implemented as wrapper. So game still not native support nowadays gamepads. Anything standard now - hotplug, autobinding, and ofc XYZ\Triangle-Square-Circle promts, wireless\wired devices are differ ones (its from Windows, it recognize wireless as differ devices, only Xbox pads recognized as same device) - is not supported. Connect gamepad before starting the game and go to setting, manually rebind keys.
So for anyone that runs into this issue. What resolved it for me was adding a "Saved" folder to the install directory. I noticed there was a "Saves" folder, but I'm not aware under what circumstances that folder would be used, if any. Not sure what is causing this issue, but it's an easy fix.
Btw, useful link:

As seen here, GOG-Galaxy version use Saves folder instead of SAVED
http://www.gogdb.org/manifest/8deb2f89410608b22a28a6da8dcdc449
Empty folders created after game downloading along with creating links. It is Galaxy related glitch. Force game verification after downlaoding (always do that, for any client with such function) to solve the issue - Galaxy will erase and recreate empty folders and links (as well as redownload and try to reinstall Windows redist)(currently Galaxy always redownload something and not tell what exactly - so do verification at least twice in a row).

In GOG (offline) version this folder also created. Not sure what can prevent this...
(for settings game still use HKLM section of win regedit, PCGW info incorrrect)
