It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Simply put, the game runs way too fast sometimes. I've read somewhere it is because the game detects processor speed when it first starts up and doesn't adjust gameplay speed after that. I have tried setting program affinity to one core, adjusting actual gameplay speed using "+" and "-" all to no avail. It seems the speed is "off" no matter what I do.

Is there anyway to set a max framerate without doing finnicky stuff like this? I've seen a lot of people in other forums suggest a CPU speedkill program... but I don't particularly want to do go that route.

Any suggestions/fixes?

Other than that, I am really digging the game.

Thank you, in advance.

I assume you're using a laptop ? There are some suggestions in this thread

By the way, speed is adjusted by using the "+" and "-" on the game pad, not the normal keys. Are you using the Fn + "?" or Fn + ":" (or whatever the appropriate keys are on your keyboard)
Thank you, that seems to help a lot. And yes, O was using "+" and "-" on the 10 key, not the number row.

Thanks again.

The link mentioned is not available now , Kezardin gives me another link. I think it may be useful to someone.

One way : You might want to try installing SpeedSwitchXP on your laptop. This regulates the processor frequency and has "fixed" Blitzkrieg for many players running the game on laptops.
SpeedSwitchXP: http://www.diefer.de/speedswitchxp/

Another:
On some Laptop , SpeedSwithXP may not help. Try this:
- run any (token) map from Map Editor
- abort to Main Menu
- THEN run your target map from Main Menu as usual

Using these steps the game plays on normal speed.
