darthspudius: Judging by the style of the graphics, I would say no. It really doesn't matter. The game has a set look and I don't think we're going to see any improvements unless someone finds the source code for a remaster.
It would take a lot of work and time to significantly improve the definition/crispiness of the graphics , like for example with a Neural Network algorithm (AI upscale) since it would have to be done per model and per video frame for everything and then redistribute the upscaled assets (as this would not be viable to be done in real-time). And no one can guarantee that the end result would look good when messed together, since some of the added effects may "work" better because of the low resolution.
Still I agree that finding the original assets would be of great help for a possible remaster -- even for the simple version of such whereby we kept the existing engine implementation (ScummVM) and just tried to switch the assets in-place (with the added coding that this would entail).
Original source code, would possibly help in the restoration process of the cut content -- since it would explain some design decisions behind content being removed and probably give insight to abandoned story threads and mechanics.
