Hi,

Does BLADE RUNNER run on Catalina? I'm considering gifting it to a friend.
I am running it on the latest MacOS on my mid-15 Macbook Pro, and it runs fine. I haven't played it a ton though, so there may be bugs I am unaware of.

Thanks! You're a gent!
Np! Hope they enjoy it!

Hi,

Does anyone have any issues running blade runner on Mac OSX Catalina 10.15.6? I can't get it to launch. The game icon appears in the MAC dock with the little dot beneath it and just sits there??

Many thanks

People have reported issues with Mac OSX Catalina, when launching the game and also when saving games.

There are a few threads about this here. If I recall correctly, it's because Mac OS X introduced some more strict file/folder access policies.

GOG's Blade Runner runs with ScummVM, so you could try installing a more recent stable version or a daily build of ScummVM and run Blade Runner from that one.

Also have a look in these threads (there could be others as well); maybe there's a solution more specific to your issue:

It runs fine on Catalina. I wouldn't go changing ScummVM around personally, since it works as is. The only thing is, Mac may request your password to allow saving permissions one time, if you aren't asked, look into that.

It runs fine though, Mac just is a bit more closed off, so these types of things aren't uncommon running that OS.

PS I actually encountered an easier time on Mac manually changing SCUMMVM settings than on PC where it required a manual close once modified (not by design, mind you). Point is, in some ways, the Mac experience is smoother, so don't worry and give it a shot as is.
