I have just reached the point in the game where I bought the flight stabilizer for the 'space ship.' And I'm currently about 10 pearls short for the engine at Mamago's.
Now here's my problem: I just reformatted my computer. I THOUGHT I had kept the correct files for the save slots, but apparently I didn't. So what I need is either a 'trainer', or a save file that is at about the same spot as I am -- I just found Uncle Payjes' spaceship, and still need ABOUT 10 pearls before I can buy the engine.
If anyone has any links, or save files that might help me, it'd be much appreciated!

Chances are that you in fact do have the correct saves, just with wrong in-game descriptions, because you didn't include sally.idx in your backup. I made this mistake too, see this thread. It's no big deal, just load and immediately save each slot to fix the descriptions up.
If that doesn't work, a save-game editor is available [url=http://www.terrygoodkind.net/~rahly/bgae.php]here[/url], follow the the link to BGAEEdit. Use with caution.
Failing that, I have all my saves archived, and I've just uploaded them to my site. Note that because I didn't know to include sally.idx, they will show up with the wrong descriptions. I got 100% completion, but I did need to use the save-game editor to award myself the online achievement now that Ubisoft's site isn't supporting that any more.

how do i use the editor on "my saves' .... i always get the 'out of memory' error whenever i try to load it up ... and i would try to save and i get the 'being used by another app' error
i can edit your saves but i still can't use your save because of the sally.idx issue .... won't even load up ..... i just need another 6 pearls to be able to get to the moon & i'm sucking at the mini games & i keep screwing up on the star pass section
so how do i use the editor to avoid smashing my keyboard out of frustration?
