Just wondering if this version works in OS X under Wine/Crossover/emulation program du jour, before I decide to spend $10.00 on it, as I remember that the original version was a compatibility nightmare...
Thanks in advance.

I'm running Linux and I'm wondering too. The Wine App Database entry for the game hasn't been updated for a while but Gog version of games tend to work better in my experience. I'll test it with Wine and report back here. I hope I wont have to start up my gaming partition.
Well, it's playable.
I had to disable shadows because it caused some graphical glitches like Jade was completely black. Even with shadows disabled there were still some other graphical problems like random parts of some of the cutscenes were upside down and your health is a very pretty shade of blue instead of yellow. Running the game at high resolutions caused it to be so slow it was unplayable so I ran it at 640x480. At 800x600 the sound started to get out of sync. The sound would occasionally get stuck in a loop so I enabled subtitles to know what they were saying. The sound would correct itself after a while but it would just get stuck in a loop again later on.
I tested this with version 1.1.17 of Wine under 64-bit Xubuntu. Since I'm running Linux and you're running Mac there could be some differences between the version of WIne but I don't think the results would be that much different.

I just installed Beyond Good and Evil on a Mac using Crossover Games 7.2. It looks like the game is fully playable, with some minor issues:
- You have to turn shadows off in the configuration panel, or Jade (and seemingly only Jade) will appear only as a black silhouette
- The first video in the game is upside down (it only lasts a few seconds). I'm not sure if the other "videos" I saw were real videos or animations made with the game engine, but the problem seemed to be fixed after this.
- One of the songs (after you pay the bill to turn the lights on) looped weirdly.
- Some of the dialogue didn't seem to play correctly (or was I expecting a voiceover when there wasn't one?)
I didn't play the game natively under Windows yet, so I don't know if its textures are displaying correctly, if all of the detail is there, etc. My guess is that it is fully playable but that there are certainly some minor issues and glitches.
and now the audio goes well (as much as expected from the other posts) and i don't know what does it, maybe only a reboot that finished the installation of some of the latest update?
now to try to resolve the audio stutter...
or...
i would like to try to resolve it, but as stated before i'm completely unable to launch the configurator exe!!!
is there some good soul that could pass his functioning configuration (if it's in a file, or his wine/cedega registry if it's saved here)?
edit
there is another rather annoying thing, some zones are in a really bad light, like a room quite dark and filled with fog! you could barely distinguish what is in those zones! maybe another think that could be resolved with the configurator that doesn't work :(

I am running the game on CrossOver Games 8.1.3, tried other versions as well. I keep getting the error that the game has been badly installed. It seems a known problem to more people when I searched the internet. Anybody knows how to fix this?
