I'm still running the original release of the game, since it wasn't unplayable for me, and I didn't feel like downloading again 12 GB; so I waited for a simple updater.

Now you give us an updater and it's only from 1.0.2 to 1.0.3... so I have to download 12 GB anyway?

Please, provide incremental patches for every version of the game.

You were one of the best publisher/sellers from the point of view of customer friendliness, but lately I'm getting the sensation that GOG is changing for the worst: if you give me the choice of not using Galaxy, I think it's only fair that you don't try to force me to use it anyway by giving a worse treatment in situations like this one to those who don't want it. I hope this last part is only paranoia.

Like hell I am downloading the game again and I won't be using Galaxy either. Make a proper patch for ver1.0 or it is refund for me.

You should tell them, rather than us.
Thank you alcaray, I'll try opening a support ticket.

I like to make my displeasure known to all.

I had to submit a dxdiag report just to ask where the effing patch is that will install on my version of the game. Also had to click on half a dozen stupid captcha puzzles.

I even installed Galaxy and was going to download the game again but Galaxy keeps losing connection to the server so it shuts down on me after a few minutes. fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu...

No, I am not a happy camper over this issue. Already wasted enough time over a bleeding patch.
They used to have incremental on Classic, I wonder why they have abandoned that?
Wait, so if you just go to the downloads section, and then GOG Downloader Links, and manually download the 1.0.2-277R > 1.0.3-280R patch....is that not the correct way to be patching Battletech here?

Like does that not patch it to the most up to date version right there? Is there something missing?

Is it solved already and I'm late to this party?...

That patch works just fine if you are on release 1.0.2-277R. If you are not trying to patch that release, then - when you execute the 103 patch - it will tell you that you have the wrong patch for your current release (and fail to do anything else for you).

Ok well if I'm running the 1.0.0 version and download that patch I mentioned above, it will give me the error you mentioned right? Is there a 1.0.0-1.0.2 patch for us on GOG?

Because it says in the patch notes on paradox that in patch 1.0.1 they are "Adding version number display to the Main Menu."

Since I can't see any version number when at the main menu, I must assume I have zero patches on the game at all and am running 1.0.0.

Maybe I should just uninstall the game and redownload the entire thing. It's showing the version for the install of the whole thing is 1.03...

It will save my save games right? I know that's like 99% what modern games always do, but I just want to make sure because I've put a ton of hours into this.

Yep. Just download the installer, and you should have the best version available (103, right now). Saves should be fine.
Forgot to respond, but I did reinstall the game and it did get me up to 1.03 because that's what the installer was.

But yeah, I can see how that could annoy some people if their internet connection downloads it slower. I think it only took about 10 minutes to get the 12gb or w/e it was.

Also, in case anyone hasn't noticed they updated the game again and it's now got a patch for 1.04.

"Release 1.0.4 Notes, 5/21/2018

Fixed an issue introduced in Release 1.0.3 where the campaign timeline could stop advancing under certain circumstances - most commonly, after the death of one or more MechWarriors with active temporary tags (e.g High Spirits) on them."
