If you have Win 8.1 or older OS, the game may show black screen after startup. If you alt-tab out and back into the game, you'll see the game screen but it will be frozen. The music continues playing, so the freeze only applies to the screen, not the game itself.
To fix that you need to go to Options in the game and change Screen Type from Fullscreen to Windowed Fullscreen. This is tricky because the screen is frozen while you are in the game but there is a way to go into the options (could not find an .ini file to do it manually).
While you alt-tab out and in to the game repeatedly, you'll see that the game recognizes where the mouse was right at the moment of alt-tabbing. You need to use this and click at the exact time the game recognizes the mouse position and left click input. If you have a triple click button on your mouse, it will work wonders here :) with some practice, you'll be able to click on the menu buttons. There are a few layers until you go to the Screen Type in the options, and it takes some time, but it is doable. After choosing Windowed Fullscreen and pressing Apply, the screen will be fixed and the game will be playable.
Happy gaming :)

EDIT: The game runs somewhat slower on Win 8.1 than on Windows 10+. Not sure if caused by older graphics card or OS. It is not like it is lagging but the cars go slower overall. Weird.
