Hello! I just downloaded BG I + TOSC, successfully installed, and then ran the recommended widescreen fix (which I already ran successfully a while back to patch my retail copy of BG II...it works fine with it). It appeared to patch correctly, but when I run the game, it's confined to the top left corner of the display:

I uninstalled and reinstalled the game and reapplied the patch, same result. Anyone know what's going on? My computer is a Dell Inspiron 1545 running Vista Home Premium x64, display resolution is 1366 x 768.

The widescreen mod can have issues when it comes to netbooks. I had a similar problem with my eee pc, worked fine on my desktop but the eeepc was crapping out.

I can't rember how I fixed it sorry, though I think it might have been driver related? I assume you've tried grabbing the latest drivers for everything?

Yeah, I did.

But, actually, today when I went further than the character creation screen, the game screen itself is widescreen, though the menus are a little cramped in the corners, but as long as I can read the text and see the icons (which I can), I can live with that. :)

You can try GUI mod. It should fix problems with menus.
