I went back to continue my game today, but all my BG1 saves were gone, replaced by a single save called Mission-Pack-Save. When I check the BG directory in the GoG folder, I can see that this looks like it's supposed to live in the "MPSave" folder, but for some reason it's been copied to my main "Save" folder, and deleted all the saves there!

I was only a few days into the game so it's not a huge loss (though annoying) if I can't get those saves back, but how do I make sure this doesn't happen again?

If you're on a Win7 system, install somewhere other than Programs or Programs(x86). Something like C:\Games. This will keep Win7's security features from mucking about with your game saves. As well, install and run the game as admin.

But trying to load them freezes BG. :( Must be anchored incorrectly somewhere.
