szabtom: I can host BG2. North American time is not a problem if we start early. :) It is 6 hours later here for me than in New York. Look for a
BG2:ToB game on Gameranger from 1800 CET (GMT+1): host: Szabtom
players: max 4 (to get Jaheira and Minsc out of the Irenicus dungeon). If there is lots of us we can play 6. :)
description: good old games
I will set the game to private (friends only). Use
your GOG name on Gameranger and send me a chat message. I will add you to my buddy list so you can join. I will give almost full permissions to everyone in the game. Core difficulty and frame rate 30 need to be set in everyone's BGconfig. I suggest the Baldurdash 1.68 fixpack to be installed by everyone. It is faithful to AD&D rules and to the game, fixes bugs and does not alter game rules (like the G3 fixpack which I always avoid).
I also recommend a couple of ground rules:
Everyone creates new starting characters in advance. No limits on attributes. Any class or kit is allowed. No mods (except the Baldurdash 1.68 fixpack) and no cheats. No Diablo style rush. If nobody brings a druid or priest we will rely on potions and temples. :) No NPC abuse (take into party to strip equipment or cast healing and then kick out). Decisions by majority vote (where to go, which quest to do, which NPC to take, what to buy, etc). Noone can buy anything above 500g without party agreement (we will see each other's inventory, easy to spot) and no money cheat (again easy to spot).
Forgot to say that today we adjusted the clock due to daylight saving - check the CET time online. :)
Aw feck man. I just remembered that I have a game in progress I'd like to complete, so I have different mods. I could just back up my install, but I'm running low on HD space.
