Hey there,

While I've been playing BG2 for years, I finally got myself a digital copy (after losing my physical one), and I'm having some issues with the GOG version of this game. Namely, it crashes constantly when I'm trying to manipulate my inventory. Give Minsc a weapon? That's a crash. Give anyone two weapons? That's a crash. Right click an unidentified item? That's a crash. It's getting very frustrating. I've included one of the crash outputs, if it means anything to anyone, but any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

A Windows Exception c0000005 is, in essence, an access violation. They are generally very hard to track down, unless you know precisely what you are doing. My first advice to you is to be sure that you never install *any* games into the Windows' protected 'Program Files' folder structure -- if it is, uninstall it and re-install to somewhere else, like C:\Games\ .
Second, make sure you have administrative rights to the folder it is installed to. Third, try not to play games with your antivius in real-time protection mode. Fourth, check your system RAM with a RAM checker. And lastly, never underestimate the mods you install and/or editing of save games as a potential cause.
Your game should say Version 1.3.5521... did you install a patch/mod?
