Hi, is it possible to download say English and Polish versions and mix the languages like in modern games like skyrim where they don't bother recording translations and we have English audio and Polish text?

The reason I'm asking is because I want to try playing it in another language but just can't stand my Viconia and Haer-Dalis speaking any other language than Polish, it feels weird I'm too attached to that, sorry! ;) I'm using classic BG2, but I'm willing to buy EE if this is available there. Thanks!

All text resources should be located within file dialog.tlk, so it should be possible to install the Polish version of the game (to get Polish dubbing voices) and then overwrite that file with the English one (taken from the English version also provided by GOG).

That said, beware: I am not sure about possible glitches due to this mixing process.
That's the solution I thought about too, but it depends entirely on every single text string reference being in the same place in the file in both language versions. That may be the case, but it can easily also not be the case, especially when moving into mod terrain.

You can try it at least, but be aware that you can see very odd interactions or item descriptions if things don't match.
I went and tried it, but no luck so my second attempt is to install English BG and override just sound files. It was partly successful, as all NPC now speak Polish except... joinable NPCs, which was the entire point of the excercise. I have so far replaced following files with their Polish version:

25CreSou.bif
25NpcSo.bif
AMBSound.bif
CHASound.bif
CRESound.bif
MISSound.bif
NPCHd0So.bif
NPCSoCD2.bif
NPCSoCD3.bif
NPCSoCD4.bif
NPCSound.bif
SFXSound.bif

Does anyone know where NPC sound set is stored? Because it's apparently not there
PS. This is for BGT

EDIT: I think I've got it! it was bgtwav.bif, so far it's working:) Will update if it all goes horribly wrong at later stage
