Before the huge update my game started and everything worked.

Then the update obliterated the game and all characters were invisible and I couldn't create a circle and travel to it.

A recent small patch hid the Skip button and there's no way to start the game, and probably not even after creating an account.. Never mind any suggestions, I've tried them all. Recent updates do absolutely nothing since I can't play them.

Would pre ordering bring back the Skip button that eliminates the need for an account? No way! Why pre order while presently having a game that seems to be deliberately blocked from starting.

Why ask for troubleshooting something that was NOT my fault. Games are scripted and when something is taken out like a boss fight or what ever, the whole series of scripting is screwed up and all sorts of problems occur.

What needs to be done is return to the very beginning and try again. Oooh, reprogramming the whole game would be out of the question or questions.

I've been all over the internet and discovered that there are many more gamers locked out of the game of Baldur's Gate 3 on the PC.

I have no idea what you are talking about. Based on your post you do not want to troubleshoot. So just ranting?
No dammit, I refuse to trouble shoot something that I didn't cause. As I clearly stated, my game was ok until some of the ridiculous changing of the installation files. And quit trying to snowball me. I wasn't born yesterday. Heck, I even know where, when and what time I was born: 2:30 on a Thursday afternoon at home in 1942 Dec 10.

Whatever that is supposed to mean. Plenty of words for just ranting.
The updater should really have checked for and deleted the old "patch...blahblah.pak" files as they seem to be the cause of this issue:

https://forums.larian.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=920312 (post near the bottom of the page)

If you updated rather than complete reinstall (uninstalling, and deleting the old game folder before installing anew), then you'll have those leftover files which apparently cause your issue.

I know you don't want to troubleshoot, and you already tried this fix ("tried them all") - but someone else might read this thread and this might fix it for them.
Going to this address and doing what the poster suggested fixed my game:

https://forums.larian.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=920312

Oops, did I accidentally copy the address?

I deleted all pak files with patch before it regardless if it had numbers or what ever.

I understand that reinstalling the game, without being sure that old information is completely gone, causes the game to not start.

Many thanks for the information!

Well, this is the kind of thing why I never change the game while I'm still in a walkthrough.

(Unless I guess I'm trying to fix a fatal problem with the current game and this is my last resort)

I know you do not want to hear this but like Cyberpunk sometimes the only fix is uninstall then fresh install. Updating does not always go well. I have even had that happen with Wow in the past. Just be happy we have broadband these days.
