I watch playthrough series of this game on YouTube. They were published in October. I have noticed that the playable character doesn't have the voiced lines after the dialogue option has been selected. It feels half baked when I watch it. The game looks and feels very much immersive, but this part cripples it. Has the voice acting been added so far?

yes there is lots of voice acting but no your character doesn't say much yet and spends most the game as a mute
When I referred to the question, I mean the playable character's voice lines only. Ah, too bad that the playable character is a mute during the dialogue scenes, it really breaks the immersion.

Lots of RPGs don't voice the main character. All of the classics that I can think of. You usually get to pick a voice just for yelps.
Frankly, voice acting of main PC kills RPG imho, because it puts the limit of what can be done/said in game, and it make for more linear experience, so personaly I'm just fine with no voice acting at all, or maybe I am just to old :)
Character being a mute kills the RPG essence - the immersion. I can't stand those interactions with a mute. This is the third game Larian Studios have done in this engine, it is about time to move forward and include full voice acting.

as a game dev its very easy to add voice to the main character and the main block is normally file size but this game already has big assets so an extra 1/2 g isn't something they should worry about

honestly just add a toggle in the options setting, main character voiced [yes, no] and let people make their own minds up
