Hi,

I'm trying to launch the game in Steam Deck but, until now, I have not been able to do it. It throws a .Net Runtime needed error. I assume that this is because of the launcher. I have tried to launch via Heroic and Lutris, but no luck.

I have also tried to launch directly bg3.exe adding it as a no Steam game, but it goes to a black screen and crashes.

I know that the Steam version works, so there should be something to make this one work too.

Hey, first off what you want to do in Heroic is set "--skip-launcher" as a game argument.
Then go ahead and install the .net desktop runtime installer from your _redist folder of your BG3 install. Make sure you run this exe in Heroic in the BG3 prefix.

And lastly, while mine starts ok with bg3.exe (which runs on Vulkan) but some people are saying this one causes problems with the deck. In Heroic select and alternative EXE to run and pick "bg3_dx11.exe" instead.

Hope this works.

Anyway, the problem is that I need the launcher to have cloud save, so I can also play on the PC, so I can't skip it.

Thanks for the answer, though.

Then just remove the "--skip-launcher" arg and you get a launcher.

On that note, are you absolutely certain the launcher is required for cross-save? It seems to me that logging into your Larian account from within the game does the exact same thing. (i.e. cross-saving)
