After downloading and installing Patch 9 I found my old saves and profile are gone. This doesn't bother me much since I was going to start fresh anyway, but when I try to create a new profile the game immediately crashes to desktop. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, were you able to fix it?

1 they should be hidden not gone... look for a small tag [see image]

2 you get to the profile fold from the Larian launcher... press the icon and scroll down [see image]

and yes a crash is common on that folder because its a sync so you can't do it while the actual game is running

okay, I see the folder and my old profile appears to be there. But I still don't see it in the game, it only gives me the option of creating a new profile. Is there something else I'm supposed to do with the folder?

EDIT:
never mind, I figured it out. I toggled off "hidden" in the folder properties. I guess that's what you were implying I should do. Anyway, thanks :)

we all have a single profile now, enjoy
It's strange, I have an issue with profile(s) as well, though I'm on Steam. Baldurs Gate insists on using my Steam profile on 1 PC, the Public one on the other. There might be an issue after the patch with syncing profiles.
there are lots of issues with Steam yes

the one that has your Steam profile is busted and thats because Larian didn't test the change so didn't allow for systems still using the old profile

i.e, their code didn't actually remove old profiles when it made the new public one... there should be a Steam post in their forum somewhere taelling you how to verify files and remove that old profile

anyway on Gog the continue button is busted and all multiplayer games will currently crash if you join a talk
