Let's be serious. When will the game be released from early access to production?
I generally don't buy unfinished games and it would be nice to look forward to a quarter with a year. Because BG3 looks nice and interests me.
Am an old school gamer and know the first parts of course.

But I'm also old school when it comes to foreign languages, so I don't really know any sufficiently.
Will there be a German dubbed version? That is absolutely important for an RPG.

And otherwise I'm interested if there will be an AI for the companions? I don't like to control all my companions by hand in a group-based RPG. It's very important for me to fill a role within that group and that my NPC companions act as if they are alive and have souls of their own so to speak and fight on demand, well adjustable on their own, even if the game is a turn based RPG that's still important to me.
If I suddenly command and control all party members and their companions myself in battle, it immediately takes a huge chunk of coolness out of those companions and drastically weakens the game experience for me.

I already disliked this in DOS2 and pulled a mod that gave the NPCs an AI. Unfortunately, this was a bit immature, but it was still suddenly a lot better than having no group at all, so to speak, but only many of your own characters, because you had to do everything alone.
I think that's bad.
Give us reasonable AI settings for the companions and let summoned creatures of the companions then also fight alone.
And please, if that's the case, then shapeshifting should also be used by the NPCs. In DOS, this was turned off in Polymorph, which was and is simply weak.

Thanks for the info etc.
high rated
Ok. We all want different things, step in line.

I think BG3 could be good, at least it should.

the game is built on their dos engine so no i.e, the party Ai is [almost] good enough to follow the leader like a line of ants but once combat starts you still have to take control of each one... just like what happens in the pen & paper

even if enoght fans ask for it and Larian agrees its still not going to change unless they rebuild the entire game engine

the German dupping is in with a good chance imo because the fans can do that themselves if it comes to it... it takes a long time but its not hard to do
Unlike BG2 etc there will be no AI script it will be along the lines of DOS 2 (essentially the game is being built around 5e love it or hate it). The only negatives I have for the game are 5e, 4 man groups and not feeling like a BG series game for me. As for German, unusual question if you've played DOS2 you know the answer more or less.

Bought years ago when first offered; still waiting for completion. Trouble is, I am old and disabled, and hope to live that long.

dluketic: Where did the - rating go?
GOG removed it in a "See! This is why we can't have nice things." moment.
