I got the car and parked it right in front of Kovalev yet the only dialogue I can give is "I'm working on it" The journal still lists the quest as not done. There are no options for dialogue at all. I can use the car but the quest is not finished.Anyone know why?

Sounds like you brought that car which you can fix yourself on that scrapyard - that silver one is for you :) . The car for Kovalev is located at Abandoned warhouse where Dan and his gang reside (car itself is located near bottom part of map) and you need to pay caravaneer with truck (during random encounter) to have them bring car to Otradnoye

Thanks. I had no idea there was a car at the Abandoned factory. The one I got was at the scrapyard and the only way I could get it was to kill everyone there. You are right I had to fix it myself.
I went back and found the car you mean. I did see it before but it looked to be such a rusted wreck with no possibility of repair that I just ignored it. Besides there is radioactivity around there and I was anxious to leave since at that time I had no way to cure myself. If I come across that random event I'll finish the job.
