I have tried to craft this repeatedly, using the recipe from various wikis, *2 X metal crossbows (also tried wooden crossbows, as some wikis show that), scrap, 3 wires and toolbox; the problem is that metal crossbows don't stack so you can't get two of them in the input box! I keep getting "missing items" error message.
Edit: I now have the purchased recipe which does say two metal crossbows, but when you click it only one goes to the input box
ANSWER FOUND: I'm posting in case someone runs into the same thing. Both crossbows must be unloaded, then they stack.
