So TheGamer has an article (a few days old now) about Ubisoft's plans on shutting down the online features of a few legacy titles in May.

Here it is!

I'm thinkin' that this may increase the chances of a few more Ubisoft titles comin' over here to GOG :3 In my eyes, the weaker their games' current forced connection to Uplay gets, the easier it should be to wrap everything up all pretty in a DRM-free "everything's included, play offline or whatever" sorta bundle :p Yes, I realize that AC2 was patched to officially allow offline play a few years back.

Anyway, I'd wager that it would give them a fair chunk more cash for these titles as well--especially if they're already essentially giving up on them. Plenty of people are dedicated to GOG and the FCK DRM mindset, so a decision to send the games over here would be nothing but beneficial for both sides <3 Of course the PC version of AC2 is arguably sub-par, requiring a few tweaks to be an enjoyable experience on modern hardware (I still don't know how to get rid of that nasty stuttering when I'm lookin' at the map :/ ). In any case, since we certainly can't expect them to open up the source code, a GOG release would undoubtedly be a fantastic move :3

As you've probably guessed, there's no real point to this post other than to voice a lil excitement and hopefulness, also probably show Ubisoft that there's definitely interest in case they ever look over here for any reason (low chances, yeah, but you miss all of the shots you don't take :p )

I'm not asking for any specific input from anybody else, but if ya feel anything is worth saying, some conversation is welcome!

Having more Assassin's Creeds on GOG would certainly be great. Only time will tell.
One can only hope from that article. I've been waiting ever so patiently for Ubisoft to release more of their older games to GOG. Fingers crossed the GOG community will get this and more eventually! ^_^
Knowing Ubisoft, it genuinely wouldn't surprise me if they don't know HOW to remove the Uplay DRM from the games.

That stuttering in the map isn't a PC problem, it's in all versions. (Well, it's in the PS3 and PS4 versions too. I've never played it on Xbox.)

Maybe we have more chance now. Since October 1st legacy AC titles lose their Uplay "support. Since online function will shut down, like multiplayer and other online features (like Liberation HD mini-games).

I wonder those ULC stuff can be included to offline GOG version, the game saves to offline to, seems every 2nd title in the series has proper cloud save function anyway.

Actually, every title till Balck flag should hit GOG, since most the players got furious since they can access certain DLCs after October 1st, if they don't activate it. Which happens everyone who buys those title after October.
