undergroundgemz: I have the patch and the UAP ...it works fine but when I change the resolution the game zooms out a bit .. I don't mind but I'm recording footage for an upcoming video about this game and I don't want the game to be zoomed out like it was when I was playing Fallout 2 .... I can only get this game running without any lag in windowed mode so I change the resolution to 1280x720 .... I think i will just have to deal with fact that it zooms out a bit
Waltorious: Since the game is 2D, increasing resolution will always zoom things out. Every object and character in the game is a fixed number of pixels, so if you try to display more pixels on your screen at once, you will "zoom out" and see more things on screen at a time. Characters and objects will appear smaller because you are using smaller pixels. It's not like a 3D game where you can change the number of pixels used for objects and characters.
The game originally ran at 800 x 600, so if you want the "true" zoom level you should use that. Note that it's a 4:3 aspect ratio resolution, so if you have a widescreen monitor you will have black bars on the sides (or, if your scaling isn't set properly, you will stretch the image horizontally).
If you want to make it run in widescreen while keeping the original zoom level, you can try to set up a custom resolution of 1067 x 600, but I'm not sure if the widescreen patch supports custom resolutions like that and it might be tricky to get your monitor to display them. Your solution of using 1280x720 zooms out by ~ 20%, which is maybe livable for you.
Actually I think if I remember right, The Widescreen patch techincally allows any resolution since you can insert any value, the only problem is that the LOS or something or other gets messed up after a certain point *Shrugs*

And yes Pretty much as Waltorious said, since its Pixel based, that game can only get so big based of the image size. and I don't really feel like hex editing and seeing if there would be a zoom option.
