So I tried to install the game using Vista 64bit and the installer just fails.

Did you right click the installer and choose to run it as an administrator? If that doesn't work does it finish the intergraty check and get to the installer wizard or does it fail before then?

I'm having this problem also. In my case, it fails before even opening the wizard. I attached a screenshot of the error message I get.
If anyone here knows how to solve this, please help a gal out as I"m in the middle of GOG support without any luck so far.

Make sure your DirectX is up to date.

it's up to date.
Now it checks the file integrity, but says that it is corrupted and to download it again.
Still getting that error after downloading it 3 times.
