About to buy it because the screenshot I saw are interesting but I've heard alot of great and not so great things about this game and I want to try it out but how long is it? how long did it take you to beat it? I like taking my time and doing as much as possible so I wont rush this game.

No worries. While speedruns do exist, the game itself is designed to be played at whatever pace you enjoy. There are side quests galore, and even sticking to just the main quest would take you at least 6-10 hours to complete.

On top of which, different play styles open up different side quests (magic vs. tech, evil vs. good, joining the thieves guild, which skills you choose to master, etc.) so the game has a high replayability factor built right in. Changing your followers will also change your experience, especially since many of them have something to say to each other.

One protip: Don't play the game without first installing the UAP; and if you're the type to explore every nook and cranny, consider downloading the level cap remover as well. It's been my experience that my enthusiasm for exploration tends to wane when I'm no longer being rewarded so directly for my efforts.
Not sure how long it takes in total. Definitely over 50 hours depending on side-questing. TwoHandedSword already recommended the UAP but the other recommendation I like to make for this game is playing on fast turn-based combat for the most rewarding play. The feel and interface may take a little getting used to, but you'll learn it and it'll be more fluid before too long. I also think it is a good idea to put a good amount of pre-thought into the type of character you want to make (read through all the starting trait options and think about if you want to go magick or technology or try the middle ground and who you want to play as in general, etc.) Also, the manual can be a big help. Enjoy!
How about this for an estimate
