Just about to visit the owner of the ring for the first time but it seems I broke a leg while defending Magnus' honor! Is there any way to repair self-inflicted wounds in this game??

Uuhhh, I think you can get it taken care of by a healer. Been a while since I've played this game but I believe the Sheriff (don't remember the town) is a good healer, and if you've met Magnus then I think you've likely come across the Sheriff, too. Hopefully you took the path that didn't piss him off. ; )

In shrouded hills there is also a healer named Gaylin, just a bit north of where Doc Roberts lives, Virgil might have some healing skills, so you could give him a load of bandages and repeatedly ask for healing, though it will take him a very long time and a lot of bandages to get the crit required to fix an injury.

The sheriff hereforthebeer is referring too might well be Doc Roberts. He's pretty easy to find, the building with the medical staff sign to the right of Ristetze.

I can't think of a healer for definite in Tarant, unfortunately. On the high street there's a techy shop with a herbalist, she might be able to heal you.
