Does anyone have it running on Windows 10 FCU without problems? The game runs "out of the box," but there are long load times and an annoying stutter. On the previous version of Windows 10, I had the stutter, but the loading times were normal. When I enable the DDrawCompat wrapper option in the latest version (1.5) of the high res patch, the game just crashes. I tried downloading the DDrawCompat wrapper directly from GitHub, but it still crashes.

Using the WineD3D libraries eliminates the long load times and stutters, and makes the game run very smooth, but it cranks up the display gamma making the game look washed out. The gamma setting persists after exiting the game and I have to run the Windows Color Management and reload the default color profile to get it back to normal.

In my case, I could not play the game in FullScreen at first. I had to put it in Windowed mode.
But then I found that disabling "DoubleBuffer" (putting the value to 0) did the trick.
You will notice that for the value 1 it says "1 = enabled (unless windowed)".
So I thought that the difference between fullscreen and windowed was the DoubleBuffer value.
And indeed, it did the trick for me.

Now it works even in 2560x1440 (I find it too small though... 1920x1080 seems the best resolution).
I never noticed any stuttering.

I installed the community patch, the hi-res maps, and the hi-res patch 1.5.

I just tred again with DoubleBuffer set to 0 and it works without crashing. The stutter and long load times are gone as well, but the game does run smoother with the WineD3D ddraw.dll though, if only it didn't mess with the Windows color settings.

It appears the GOG version comes pre-patched somehow.

The original exe should be in the highres folder. You should be able to extract it and patch it.

Had similar issues until I did that (from memory)
