The developers botched the GOG release and aren't even addressing your concerns on this forum. They can't be bothered to leave the Steam forum. The solution isn't to cancel your GOG pre-order and buy the game on Steam--it's to cancel your GOG pre-order and forget about this developer altogether.

I totally agree that the solution is not to buy on Scheme, and I respect your perspective, but personally I don't wish to cancel my preorder just yet. The developers' behavior appears despicable and I have already said my piece in the other topic, ad nauseum. But I want massive powerhouse games like this to come to GOG; I can't speak for others but that was my main impetus for preordering this one moreso than interest in the game on its own.

My own solution for now is:
-keep my preorder
-when it comes, download it (not through Galaxy client)
-never give this dev a cent again, including any expansions, possibly include more comments on this forum and a review. If there are expansions, I will point out that they should be given free to GOG customers due to these shenanigans.

I have ended up taking a similar "keep the purchase, but don't buy more" approach with Warhorse, of Kingdom Come: Deliverance. They danced around it being an incomplete game, don't satisfactorily answer the topic about inverting controls (seriously you shouldn't have to download a freaking application for this), and my favorite, they tell people to just use Galaxy instead of providing updated offline installers in a timely fashion. The impression I got was that they had to be nagged to release offline updates. The long and short of all this is that I have already paid because I wanted to support a massive release here DRM-free, but I will not continue to support developers going forward when I feel the developers go against the community here.

All that said, I very well may end up cancelling the preorder if these Ancestors Legacy devs do more (LESS?!).
I keep my pre-order. But i will make sure these devs wont see any money from me on steam. Im fed up with this policy.
