I heard a lot of good things about this game, but never bothered to watch a palythrough. I've seen a few clips though.
And since I don't use steam (or whereever it was purchaseable before), I'm quite glad to see this game here on GOG now. So, instant buy for me.

The only games similar to this I've ever played were Haunting Ground, Clock Tower 3, Forbidden Siren 1 & 2 and, argueably, Gregory Horror Show. Enjoyed HG and GHS a lot, so I'm positive this will be a blast, too.
Well, and Eternal darkness, in regards to the insanity.
Nice to have a vocal lobby of horror fans on GOG :)

Same reason I bought The Cat Lady.
Though I had to watch "This week on GoG" and was thrilled by the graphics.
... uh...yeah.

Nice to see you here, too. :)

But I think I wrote it down somewhere before:
I'm tired of what has become of Horror Games, that they are all violence, but no suspense anymore.
I mean, see Left 4 Dead, I am puzzled as why would so many people call it a "Horror" game.
There are plenty of zombies. Everywhere. And they are attacking non-stop.
It's pure action and just because the enemies are all zombies, doesn't make it a horror game for me.

Of course, a game can have tons of Action and still ahve suspense. The first Dead Space and even Dead Space: Extraction had a lot of suspense, despite being more on the action side (and Extraction being a Rail-Shooter to boot)!.
To keep a long rant short.

But if there is a game that forces me into a situation, where fighting is not possible and I'm mostly helpless - I'll open my arms for this game.
Havn't tried it yet... but I think I will now. ;)

Well, gore IS a horror sub-genre. Just one that's supposed to disgust you, not scare you (Guinea Pig series, Saw series). Same for action-horror (Nightbreed?). Gore backed by a good story is nice (first two Hellraisers, The Cat Lady - in HR gore, blood and torture defines Cenobites; in TCL it's the main way to build Parasite characters), gore for the sake of gore is plain boring (Saw films would be much more interesting if they focused on characters, games and the plot rather than long torture scenes). 'Action horror' - I'm not a fan either (even Nightbreed, which I liked, would benefit from less action).
First Prenumbra used guns nicely - you have a gun and you can kill something with it... but ammo is very limited and monsters pretty tough.
