I've been looking for a solution to this problem over the past few days. Basically, when I start up the game, the video plays, and then when the menu should be there, it's just sound and no image. When I exit the game using the windows key, I can see the menu show up for 1/2 second and then obviously the game is minimized. I've tried compatibility settings, sound/graphic driver updates, the graphics card patch, renaming the videos folder, etc. but nothing works. Both the original game and Fight Back don't work.

I'm running on an Acer laptop with:
- Acer Aspire AS5755G-6823 Notebook
- Windows 7 (64-bit)
- Intel i5 2430m 2.4GHz
- Nvidia Geforce GT540m w/ 1GB DDR3 VRAM
- Intel HD Graphics
- 4GB DDR3 1066 MHz RAM
- 500GB Hard Drive

Now obviously Windows 7 is supposed to be incompatible with the game, but almost everyone on other places where this type of error has been asked has said it works fine.

I suspect it might have something to do with screen resolution. What's your native resolution?

It's 1366 x 768. I've tried changing the resolution using the graphics properties to all the available settings. Nothing changed.

I also tried the compatibility option to run in 640 x 480 resolution, but nothing.

Try to disable Aero, that works in a few games.
